Glenn Anderson Joins Ifineon for Historic Groundbreaking

Energy-efficient building will bring new jobs and fuel Michigan's high-tech manufacturing industry

LIVONIA—State Senator Glenn Anderson proudly joined employees of Infineon, representatives of Senators Levin and Stabenow and other local and state officials for a groundbreaking today at the site of what will be an expanded LEED Silver Certified facility in Livonia. The facility will allow Infineon to more than double its operation in Southeast Michigan.

“I am thrilled that Infineon has done so well here that they are in need of more working space and have chosen to expand and hire right here in Livonia,” Senator Anderson remarked. “The commitment that this company has shown to green jobs and investing in their community provides a perfect example of the sort of business that is going to fuel Michigan's economic recovery.”

Infineon, a high-tech semi-conductor company, supplies important electrical components for the auto industry around the world. The technological ground work that the company has laid has been integral in enabling a move toward greater energy efficiency in the auto industry, building construction and in many other applications.
